Your furry friend needs your care and attention. Keep track of the food your pet eats. Not everything that is healthy for humans can be healthy for dogs. Here is a list of foods that dogs should never eat.
At the top of the list of bad food for dogs, is the one you have probably heard most about: chocolate. Theobromine is the part of chocolate that is toxic to dogs. It is found in all types of chocolate, but especially in dark chocolate and baking chocolate. It can cause vomiting, diarrhea and excessive thirst in dogs, but in extreme cases it can cause abnormal heart rhythms, cramps, tremors or death. Keep the candy for yourself.
2. Bacon and fatty meat
Wait, your dog can’t eat bacon? That’s right! High-fat foods such as bacon, ham or meat scraps can cause pancreatitis in dogs. And since these meats are also often high in salt, they can cause upset stomachs and in extreme cases can cause dogs to drink too much water, resulting in flatulence that can be fatal. Save the fat meat for yourself and stick to a slimmer selection for your dog.
