A gang of dogs shows up at the hospital to wait for a homeless landlord who is being treated inside the hospital
There is a homeless person in Rio do Sul in southern Brazil who often sacrifices his own food to feed the stray dogs around him. At a time when he suddenly needed emergency treatment, his kindness returned to him like a boomerang, as the faithful dogs he had fed ensured that he was not alone in his time of need.
The incredible loyalty of the stray dogs was demonstrated by nurse Cris Mamprim and her colleagues shortly after the homeless man, known only as César, arrived at the Emergency Department of the Hospital Regional Alto Vale in Rio do Sul, Brazil, around 3am on December 9, 2018, to seek treatment and medication for an existing condition he had been fighting.
It was the first time that César went to the Regional Alto Vale Hospital for treatment, as he normally goes to another health facility in the city. So Mamprim and her colleagues had no idea of César’s condition and background.
But it wasn’t long before they realized he had a band of canines with him.
Four affected strays had appeared at the entrance of the hospital and were waiting for César.
They were very worried about their homeless gentleman, from whom the nurses soon learned that he had renounced his own meals for some time to feed these strays.
Mamprim took a photo of the touching scene and later published it on Facebook and wrote in Portuguese: “I came across this scene today. In the hospital where I work, at 3 a.m., while its owner (who lives on the street) was being treated, his companions were waiting at the door.”
