Long Island, New York, USA: Home to over 7.5 million people and, by 2018, 40 wild cat colonies with hundreds and hundreds of stray dogs and wild cats. Last year, a study published in Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment estimated that cats cause up to four billion bird deaths and 6.3-22.3 billion mammalian accidents in the United States every year, contributing to the extinction of 63 vertebrates.

A grieving father caught himself unexpectedly on the call in his house on Long Island. After the tragic loss of his son Eric, Chris literally stumbled across a colony of 30 sick cats and kittens. The small colony lived outdoors near his neighborhood.
