Freddy the Great Dane, exactly 1.5 meters and 1.5 cm long, was officially proclaimed the largest dog in the world! Claire Stoneman was ready to take care of a large dog, but she was not ready for it. The average adult male weighs up to 190 lbs. and is 33 inches high at shoulder level. Thus, the Great Danes, in general, are much larger than the average dog.
Freddy, however, outperforms the others and was officially recognized by Guinness World Records only a few weeks ago. He even earned a certificate to show it!
Freddy tilts the scale to just over 200 pounds and measures two feet longer than his owner when he gets up on his hind legs. Imagine that! But despite this, Claire absolutely loves her furry friend and wouldn’t want it any other way. She treats him and his sister Fleur like her own children. So much so that his grocery bills drop by more than $15,000 each year.
She knows it’s worth it. While Freddy’s younger version would have loved to chew on couches and spread the foam on the floor, nowadays he is more interested in taking a nap and eating (dog food).
